Youth Street Health.

Mobile healthcare for young people experiencing homelessness in Perth.

Homeless Healthcare’s Youth Street Health team provides vital, on-the-ground healthcare to young people aged 12 to 25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. By working directly in the community—where young people live, gather, and seek support—we make health services more accessible, approachable, and relevant.

A Collaborative Approach

We work in close partnership with:

  • Vinnies WA Passages Youth Engagement Hub

  • Anglicare WA’s Street Connect team

These partnerships allow us to provide truly wraparound support, addressing not only healthcare needs but also housing, mental health, substance use, and social connection. Together, we meet young people where they are—physically and emotionally—offering compassionate care and practical help.

What We Provide

Our multidisciplinary team of nurses, outreach workers, and caseworkers offers:

  • General health care and assessments

  • Mental health support and referrals

  • Sexual and reproductive health services

  • Alcohol and other drug harm minimisation

  • Immunisations and health education

  • Help navigating the healthcare system

  • Referrals to housing and support services

  • Linkage to Homeless Healthcare’s GP’s and NP’s

We aim to build trusting relationships that empower young people to take control of their health and future, in a way that feels safe and supported.

Funded by Community Generosity

The Youth Street Health service is proudly funded for three years by the Stan Perron Foundation, with additional support from other generous philanthropic donors. Their commitment helps us reach some of the most vulnerable young people in our community and support them toward better health and stability.

Why It Matters

Young people experiencing homelessness often fall through the cracks of traditional health services. Many face significant barriers to care—including stigma, trauma, and a lack of safe spaces.

By providing non-judgemental, mobile, and age and developmentally appropriate care, the Youth Street Health team helps reduce harm, improve health outcomes, and create opportunities for positive change.

Acknowledgement of Country

Homeless Healthcare acknowledges the Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we provide our services. We recognise the continuing  connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have since passed away.
